Welcome to our Heartland Homestead

Welcome to our Homestead!

Located here, you will find the Bear & Bell Trading Post, a unique haven nestled in the heart of Northwest Missouri, where the spirit of community, Faith, and preparedness thrives. Our trading post is more than just a cabin; it's a testament to the values we hold dear and the calling we've embraced.  Wendy and her Family are the Owners of this particular addition to the business's efforts.

We've created a safe and inviting space for friends and family to come together, exchanging not just gifts and goods but also the warmth of shared experiences. Our Trading Post cabin also serves as the

Studio for Bear & Bell Soapery LLC.

As Emergency Preparedness Specialists, my husband and I recognize the importance of readiness in the face of cataclysmic natural disasters. That's why we provide accessible information on emergency preparedness and comprehensive lists of recommended supplies. Our commitment goes beyond individual readiness – it extends to the entire community. We extend our calling into other platforms, where we provide updates on Global events, stock information, and Files for anyone looking to know what they can do to prepare themselves.

The driving force behind our endeavor is the Faith Gardens & Farms Initiative for the Far West Missouri Stake, a divine calling that inspires us to prepare for the Savior's return and contribute to the welfare of those in need. This initiative, deeply rooted in Northwest Missouri, encourages the cultivation of gardens, promoting self-sufficiency and resilience. Our trading post stands as a beacon, leading by example and inspiring others to embrace better independent living.

Through the Faith Gardens & Farms Initiative, we strive to create a ripple effect of preparedness, faith, and community building. We invite fellow members of faith, family, and friends to join us on this journey towards a more self-reliant and prepared future. Our cabin is more than a trading post; it's a living testament to our commitment to the divine directive and a tangible expression of the values that guide our lives. Together, let's sow the seeds of preparedness and community, standing as beacons of hope in a world that needs it most.

Welcome to our Gardens & Greenhouse, an extension of our Trading Post, where we are sowing the seeds of self-sufficiency, community, and resilience. Our mission is to provide a diverse selection of Heirloom vegetable seedlings, cultivated right here at our Greenhouse, and offered exclusively during their respective seasons.  We will also provide Educational opportunities to those who want to learn more about growing flourishing gardens.

In our commitment to making fresh produce accessible, we strive to keep our offerings affordable. As part of our unique approach, we happily accept trades and exchanges, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.

We believe that everyone, regardless of background, should have access to a spectrum of vegetables. Our surplus is your opportunity to find the perfect additions to your garden.  Our Heirloom vegetable seedlings are grown with care and dedication. Wendy uses a rich compost soil mix sourced locally from a kind farmer, ensuring that each plant thrives.

We prioritize organic fertilizers to nourish our plants as often as we can, reflecting our dedication to sustainable and eco-friendly practices.  The window for our Seedlings typically spans from March to June, aligning with the optimal planting season. We're exploring the possibility of extending our offerings to include Autumn and Winter crop seedlings based on community requests.

Your input matters, and we encourage you to share your ideal seedling choices. Inside the cabin, you'll find a sheet where you can jot down your preferences. We'll rank the responses and grow a surplus of the most sought-after selections.

As part of our ongoing commitment to education and self-sufficiency, we also offer seeds of specific vegetable types recommended for inclusion in emergency supplies. By providing resources and support, we aim to expand the efforts of the Faith Gardens & Farms Initiative, inspiring individuals and families to embrace a more resilient and sustainable way of living.

Join us in this journey of growth, community, and a flourishing future.
