Our Animals
Our Poultry

Welcome to our bustling homestead, where chickens and turkeys play a vital role in our daily life. Our flock of chickens, a mix of heritage breeds, provides us with the joy of farm-fresh eggs. As our hens diligently lay their eggs, we savor the wholesome goodness that comes from our own backyard.
The turkey population is set to flourish, with a focus on producing
high-quality meat for our table. Our commitment to heritage breeds reflects a dedication to preserving valuable traits and characteristics that have been passed down through generations.
As time unfolds, our feathered family will grow in number, creating a lively atmosphere on our homestead. Our vision goes beyond just sustenance; it extends to nurturing new life. The pitter-patter of tiny feet (or tiny claws) is a goal we eagerly anticipate.
With the trading post, we're excited to share the fruits of our labor with the community. Fresh eggs, robust birds, and other homestead treasures will find their way into the hands of those who appreciate the authenticity of homegrown goodness. Join us on this journey as we cultivate not just a thriving homestead, but a haven for those seeking the simple pleasures of rural life.
Our Homestead Pups
Meet the dynamic duo of our homestead – Saka and Sully, the guardians of our rural haven. Saka, a striking blend of Husky, White German Shepherd, and Blue Heeler, is not only a visual delight but an essential member of our predator-watch team. With a vocal prowess that resonates across the pasture, Saka takes his role seriously, ensuring the safety of our flock. His watchful eyes and swift agility have proven invaluable in chasing away large coyotes, creating a secure environment for our cherished poultry to roam.

Saka loves attention, constantly seeking to please and comfort his family. This also means he is incredibly vocal, as he strives to always hold your attention on him. His eagerness to win your heart doesn't go unnoticed, as he won't allow it. With his energy -thanks to his breed mix, he is always on his toes observing the homestead.

On the other side of the spectrum is Sully, our gentle giant of the Great Pyrenees Anatolian breed. With a majestic appearance and a deep, resonant bark, Sully is the epitome of a trustworthy guardian. His calm and collected demeanor extends beyond his duty as a protector – it provides a serene companionship for our outside cat, fostering an atmosphere of harmony on the homestead.

Sully is Saka's younger brother in this duo, following his older brother's leadership and commands. This is helping him understand more of the "Dos" and "Do Nots" around the homestead.
Equipped with dewclaws and a heart as vast as the arctic landscapes, Sully exemplifies the qualities that make the Great Pyrenees Anatolian breed one of the most recommended and beloved choices for livestock guardians.
Together, Saka and Sully form an inseparable team, ensuring the safety and well-being of our homestead, all while bringing their unique personalities to enrich our daily lives.
Our Homestead Cats
In the heart of our homestead, our feline friends weave a tapestry of companionship and gentle spirits. Patches, our charming outdoor cat, is a beacon of warmth, offering love and company wherever the day takes them. Whether it's a stroll through the garden or a playful moment with the dogs and poultry, Patches gracefully embraces the diverse community of our homestead.
Though we carry a tender ache for Boots, who has crossed the rainbow bridge, the memory of their joyful presence lingers. Boots, Wendy's steadfast companion, found solace in the garden, leaving behind a sweet resting place to watch over the flourishing plants and blossoming life. Boots's spirit remains looking over the garden.
As we tread forward, Patches stands as a resilient symbol of companionship, adapting seamlessly to the ebb and flow of our expanding homestead. With dreams of adding pigs and other critters to our growing family, Patches, with their gentle nature, is ready to welcome new friends into the fold.
Together, the cats of our homestead leave paw prints on our hearts, creating a legacy of love that extends beyond the garden and into the very soul of our rural sanctuary.
